Here at Sebel, creating great learning spaces is at the heart of what we have been doing for over 70 years. We’re determined to lead the way in creating better products that help students and teachers be their best.
We were fortunate to be chosen as the furniture partner for stage one of South Rock State School’s inspiring new build, giving us the opportunity to work in partnership in providing state-of-the-art educational facilities in the rapidly growing community of the Yarrabilba region in Queensland.
The brief included furnishing learning spaces, breakout spaces and staff spaces, and incorporating Indigenous culture into the design was an important element. We worked in collaboration with South Rock State School and Mununjali and Wangerriburra artist, Waylene Currie to embed the artwork “Ngullingi (Us)’ in a culturally appropriate way within the design and to reflect the school colours through the artwork and furniture colours.
Sustainability was also an important part of the brief, and South Rock State School were one of the first schools to include our Recycled Postura Max chairs into their spaces. Made from 97.5% post-consumer recycled plastic, these chairs offered a robust and high performing solution with environmentally friendly credentials.
