<h3><strong>National Scholarships</strong></h3>
<p>
<a href="https://www.publiceducationfoundation.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/2024-Toyota-STEM-Teacher-Information-Kit_FIN.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>The Toyota Community Trust STEM Teachers Scholarships</strong></a> &#8211; support public school teachers across Australia involved in all aspects of STEM teaching. Nine scholarships are available nationally, each of which will provide $10,000 per scholar to cover the cost of pursuing professional development courses in STEM-related subjects. Applications from teachers working in rural, remote or low socio-economic schools across Australia are strongly encouraged.</p>

<a href="https://www.publiceducationfoundation.org.au/scholarships/principal-and-leadership-scholarships/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>The Principals Scholarship</strong></a> &#8211; run by the Public Education Foundation and Teachers Mutual Bank are open to mid-career Australian principals (between 3 to 10 years experience). There are three scholarship opportunities for mid-career Principals to ‘reflect, refocus and recharge’ through professional education programs at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE). These are:<br />
• The Teachers Mutual Bank Principals Scholarship<br />
• The <a href="https://www.school-news.com.au/education/principal-speaks-blue-mountains-principal-awarded-harvard-scholarship/" data-wpil-monitor-id="4">Harvard Club of Australia Principals Scholarship</a><br />
• The Public Education Foundation Principals Scholarship<br />
They are valued at approximately $16,000 and includes program tuition at the prestigious Harvard Graduate School of Education. </p>
<p><a href="https://www.schoolsplus.org.au/awards-2024/teaching-awards-guidelines/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>The Commonwealth Bank Teaching Awards</strong> </a>– are national teaching awards open to registered teachers and school leaders. There are twelve Teaching Fellowships ($40,000) and ten early career scholarships ($10,000), with the majority of scholarship recipients working in schools in communities facing disadvantage.</p>
<p><strong><a href="https://www.publiceducationfoundation.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/2024-Teachers-Health-Information-Kit.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Teachers Health Early Career Scholarship</a> &#8211;</strong> offered by The Public Education Foundation is for public school teachers in the first three years of their career. The $10,000 scholarship may be spent on a single professional development course or on a set of professional learning activities.</p>
<p><a href="https://business.gov.au/grants-and-programs/prime-ministers-prizes-for-science-science-teaching-prizes" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>The Prime Minister’s Prizes for Science</strong></a> – are Australia’s most prestigious awards for achievements in scientific research, research-based innovation and science teaching. The Science Teaching Prize is open to primary and secondary school teachers who inspire students to engage in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Each prize (one for primary teaching and one for secondary teaching) is worth $250,000.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.copyright.com.au/culturalfund/fellowship/reading-australia-fellowship-for-teachers-of-english-and-literacy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>The Reading Australia Fellowship</strong></a> – is supported by the Copyright Agency and is offered to one experienced teacher of English and literacy or teacher librarian each year. Valued at $15,000, the Fellowship allows the successful candidate to undertake a research project that will enhance their skills and abilities in the teaching of Australian Literature, English and literacy. Research projects may be undertaken in Australia or overseas.</p>
<h4><strong>Western Australia</strong></h4>
<p><a href="https://www.johnmonash.com/scholarships/about-the-john-monash-scholarship" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Geoff Gallop John Monash Scholarship</strong></a> – the Geoff Gallop John Monash Scholarship provides $80,000 towards tuition and living expenses per year of study, up to a maximum of $240,000 for three years of study, in addition to travel support.</p>
<p>The scholarship will be granted to recipients whose field of study will benefit Western Australia, and the State&#8217;s goals for community resilience, equity and <a href="https://www.school-news.com.au/news/entries-open-for-resourcesmart-schools-awards/" data-wpil-monitor-id="3">sustainability</a> into the future. The inaugural winner, Anish Madgeri is currently head of the learning community at <a href="https://www.school-news.com.au/news/walking-the-walk-with-school-culture/" data-wpil-monitor-id="1">Shenton College in Perth</a>, and the scholarship will allow him to pursue a one-year Master of Education Leadership course at University College London. </p>
<p><a href="https://leadershipwa.org.au/programs/signature-leadership-program/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Leadership WA &#8211; Signature Leadership Program</strong></a> – is Leadership WA’s flagship program and aimed at high performing senior leaders who are looking to develop their own courageous, powerful, and authentic leadership. One scholarship is offered yearly to public service employees level 8 and above or Principal level 5 and above.</p>
<p><a href="https://leadershipwa.org.au/programs/rising-leadership-program/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Leadership WA &#8211; Rising Leadership Program</strong></a> &#8211; is designed to develop mid-career professionals from all sectors and industries, to equip them with the tools and frameworks to become authentic, courageous and effective leaders. One scholarship is offered each year to a school principal up to level 4, a school staff member in a leadership role, a level 5 to 7 public servant or staff member employed under the School Education Act Employees (Teachers and Administrators) Agreement 2021 working in central and regional services.</p>
<p><a href="https://waali.org.au/programs/yorga-djenna-bidi/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>The WAALI-Yorga Djenna Bidi Aboriginal Women’s Leadership Program</strong> </a>– brings together women from all Aboriginal and Torres Strait background across different cultures, ages, occupations, leadership experiences and education levels to build skills, gain confidence and build networks. One scholarship is offered each year.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.anikafoundation.com/getting-involved/youth-depression-awareness-scholarship.shtml" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>The Anika Foundation Youth Depression Awareness Scholarship</strong></a> – is offered yearly by the Anika Foundation, with the most interesting proposals chosen for study tours anywhere in the world: to visit schools, experts, and learning institutions; anything with a focus on recognising and preventing depression and suicide ideation in young people. The Schools Program scholarships are available to all Teachers, Head Teachers, Student Welfare Officers and School Counsellors currently dealing with students at risk in schools, TAFE, and remote education institutions.</p>
<h4><strong>Queensland</strong></h4>
<p><a href="https://www.qld.gov.au/education/career/cooper-hewitt-fellowship" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>The Queensland-Cooper Hewitt Fellowship</strong></a> &#8211; provides an opportunity for a registered Queensland school teacher to complete a project in design education at the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum in New York. Winners receive up to $20,000 to do a project lasting 8 to 12 weeks.</p>
<p><a href="https://education.qld.gov.au/about-us/events-awards/awards-competitions/peter-doherty-awards-for-excellence-in-STEM" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>The Peter Doherty Awards for Excellence in STEM Education</strong></a> &#8211; recognises students, teachers, support officers, schools and education partners (volunteers, mentors and organisations) who demonstrate an outstanding and innovative contribution to STEM education in Queensland. For teachers and support officers, the award is to be used to assist professional development activities, while for schools and education partners, the award is to be used to assist in undertaking further STEM activities.</p>
<h4><strong>New South Wales</strong></h4>
<p><a href="https://education.nsw.gov.au/teach-nsw/enhance-your-career/nsw-premier-s-teacher-scholarships" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>The NSW Premier’s Teacher Scholarships</strong> </a>&#8211; provide teachers with the unique opportunity to explore their field of expertise by visiting some of Australia’s highly acclaimed schools and centres for teaching and learning. Winners receive up to $15,000 to complete a five-week study tour within Australia or overseas. </p>

<h4><strong>Tasmania</strong></h4>

<a href="https://publicdocumentcentre.education.tas.gov.au/library/Shared%20Documents/Hardie-Fellowship-Guidelines.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>The Hardie Fellowship Trust</strong></a> enables teachers employed by the Tasmanian Department for Education, Children and Young People (DECYP) to pursue advanced studies or research at a university in the United States for a period of up to 12 weeks. Fellowships are awarded to teachers as individuals and/or groups who demonstrate excellence in their practice. The study benefits recipients, learners and the education system.</p>
<h4><strong>Victoria</strong></h4>
<p><a href="https://www.publiceducationfoundation.org.au/teachers-mutual-bank-victorian-mid-career-teachers-scholarship/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>The Teachers Mutual Bank Victorian Mid-career Scholarship</strong></a> supports public school teachers in Victoria, who have been teaching for between five and fifteen years. The scholarship provides $10,000 to spend on approved professional development / professional learning, such as an overseas professional development course, including travel, or on a set of professional learning activities.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.academy.vic.gov.au/professional-learning/teaching-impact-fellowships" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>The Teaching Impact Fellowships</strong></a> – provide funding and support to graduates of the Teaching Excellence Program to design and implement a project that will transform teacher practice and student learning in their school. The fellowship covers the costs of professional learning workshops and advisory sessions while designing the project.</p>
<h4><strong>ACT</strong></h4>
<p><a href="https://www.education.act.gov.au/working-with-us/benefits-and-support/professional-learning/act_teacher_scholarships" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>The ACT Teacher Scholarship Program</strong></a> provides financial support to ACT teachers and school leaders within the Education Directorate to undertake further education, training and/ or research aligned to current Directorate priorities that will lead to an improvement in student learning outcomes.</p>
