Five new QLD state schools coming in 2021

<h3>Following the opening of eight new state schools at the start of this year&comma; Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said an additional five state schools were on track to open next year&period; <&sol;h3>&NewLine;<p>The Palaszczuk Government today announced it had awarded contracts to build a high school in Baringa &lpar;Caloundra South&rpar;&comma; a special school and primary school at Palmview and a primary school at Pimpama&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Construction is already underway at a new vertical high school at Dutton Park in Brisbane which is also due to open next year&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<h3>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Our track record of delivering new schools on time is apparent for all to see&comma;” the Premier said&period;<&sol;h3>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Even though last week we opened the most schools on one day in more than 30 years&comma; our record delivery of new school infrastructure is not complete&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<blockquote>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;These are some of the fastest growing regions in the state&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<&sol;blockquote>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;That’s why we’re deliver the education infrastructure these communities need&period;”<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>FK Gardner and Sons has been awarded the contracts to construct the four new schools&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Construction will commence over the coming months on all four schools and it’s expected the projects will support more than 950 construction jobs – another economic boost of our local communities&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<h3>Education Minister Grace Grace said the Palaszczuk Government was planning for the future and delivering now to respond to the rapid growth that we are expecting in these suburbs&period;<&sol;h3>&NewLine;<p>Ms Grace said the new high school at Caloundra South would be located near Baringa State School which was opened by the Palaszczuk Government in 2018&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;The &dollar;127&period;25 million high school will be built in three stages and feature an administration area&semi; a library&semi; food studies and hospitality area&semi; junior general learning centre&semi; sports centre&semi; lecture theatre&semi; science centre&semi; junior applied technology area&semi; staff centre&semi; canteen and covered areas&semi; staff and student amenities&semi; an oval&semi; and bus and car set-down facilities&comma;” she said&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;The primary school and special school at Palmview will both be built in two stages constructed on a combined campus with a high school also planned for delivery on the site in 2023&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Palmview&&num;8217&semi;s &dollar;63&period;8 million new primary school will feature an administration centre&comma; library&comma; multi-level classroom blocks&comma; and a sports and music centre&comma;” she said&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;A new &dollar;68&period;8 million special school will feature an administration and library building&comma; classroom blocks&comma; activity centre&comma; skills centre and a hospitality centre&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;The primary school in Pimpama would provide additional capacity for Prep to Year 6 students and increase enrolment capacity in one of the state’s fastest growing regions&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;The &dollar;59&period;6 million school will feature administration and corporate services facilities&comma; prep and junior learning centres&comma; a specialist STEM and music centre&comma; a central covered area&comma; library&comma; canteen&comma; sports oval&comma; staff and student amenities and a multi-purpose hall&period;”<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Ms Grace said the projects were building on the Queensland Government’s record investment in new schools and local jobs&period; <&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;The four new schools are an investment of close to &dollar;320 million in education infrastructure&comma; building on the hundreds of millions we invested to open eight new schools in 2020&comma;” she said&period;  <&sol;p>&NewLine;
